Client Stories:

Kira is a two-year-old who learned to sit by solely being put in a sitting position by her caregivers. She was not crawling or walking, and had delayed speech. Using the Anat Baniel Method NeuroMovement® method, Julie taught Kira how to roll through promoting the relationship between her head, pelvis, and spine through hands-on techniques. Now, Kira can go from lying down to sitting independently in an organized manner, and because she is able to better hold her head up, her speech and oral motor skills improved spontaneously.

Jay is a ten year old boy that has a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. He is an incredibly picky eater, has low tone, and poor oral motor skills. Through the Anat Baniel Method NeuroMovement® approach, Julie used hands-on techniques on Jay's head, neck, and jaw to promote increased organization, differentiation, and awareness of those parts of his body to his spine. As a result of this, within a few weeks, Jay was able to increase his oral motor skills, as well as his meal preferences and tolerance for new and different kinds of foods

Julie's Journey with ABMNM®

I discovered ABMNM® while searching for my own therapy to assist with chronic knee pain from years of soccer and skiing. During my training, my chronic pain decreased, I was able to stop wearing orthotics and return to participating in my athletic hobbies.

I also discovered that this work had a profound effect on my mental health. As new research indicates, the brain/body connection is powerful. Through these new movement patterns and the release of chronic muscle contractions, I experienced positive emotional changes.

I enjoyed the ABMNM® so much, that I completed all the trainings offered, including the Children's Mastery Series® through the ABMNM®. I incorporate this work into my daily practice working with children with disabilities. I have continued my education through workshops and volunteering with Sylvia Shoredike, Guild Certified Feldenkrais® Practitioner, ABMNM® Practitioner.
